Released by ETMC:

ETMC will offer a free KnowledgeFirst Forum Monday, July 9, at noon in the ETMC Pavilion on diabetes foot care presented by Dr. Karen Wies, an ETMC First Physician.

"For people with diabetes, a foot sore is cause for concern— no matter its size," said Dr. Weis. "Every foot sore has a potential to become an ulcer, which if not treated properly, can lead to amputation."

Dr. Wies is board-certified in internal medicine and specializes in wound care.

A light lunch will be served. Free parking is available next to the Pavilion, located at 801 Clinic Drive in Tyler. The gate opens at 11:30 a.m. Please pre-register by calling 800-648-8141 and press 2.
