This is Martin England's fifth year in teaching, his third at Winona, where his bands range from sixth grade through high school. England and his wife, April ,were married just out of high school. By college graduation, two of their three children had been born. In addition to these responsibilities, England also learned of the terminal illness of his father. Martin England then almost ended his career before it had started, but his college band director talked him out of quitting college and even gave him a job to help support his family. That's part of the reason England feels more of a sense of responsibility to help his students.
