David Wesley Camp celebrates 10 Years

LONGVIEW, TEXAS (KLTV) - East Texan David Wesley loves coming back to East Texas.

For the 10th straight year, the 14 year NBA veteran returned to Longview for his annual free basketball camp.

"You see the kids grow and you see the kids and parents in the community, it just continues to grow," said Wesley, "The ones that come back year after year and we are so excited to get to 10 years and the goal now is to get to 20."

It was perfect timing for Wesley, the day after LeBron James and the Miami Heat won their 1st NBA Championship.

Wesley played with James in 2007, for the Cavaliers and lost in the finals that year to the Spurs.

Despite his title, Wesley says, LeBron has to win more to stop the constant criticism.

"I am happy for him but if he thinks all the criticism is over he's wrong. I think in his mind he's doing things the right way now. He understands some of the things that he didn't do in the past to win championships to win series or play harder or better or dominate," said Wesley.

He went on to add, NBA, look out.

"If that's the Lebron that's coming up, be ready, because he could win those three, four or five [titles] if he continues to play like that."

Wesley has recently been coaching in the NBA's Developmental League and says one day, he hopes to land a coaching job in the NBA.
