It was a great night for football. Robert E. Lee held their annuall Red-White game Thursday at Lee's practice field. Coach Mike Owens sat five or six of his starters, instead using the game to spotlight a lot of kids that didn't get to play much during the past season. The coaches were looking for a little intensity and seeing how the players react in a game situation. Coach Owens said the days leading up to the game are what really count.
"The 15 or 16 workouts we got prior to this are the ones where the football team has really developed and they start to learn what's going on and we hope it carries over into the fall," said Owens. "This game here is just kind of a reward for spring training is all it is."
