Tyler Park Gets New Tennis Complex

A park in Tyler known for it's baseball fields, now has a new sport to spotlight. The City of Tyler held a ribbon cutting today to open the Faulkner Tennis Complex. The complex includes a new pro shop, snack area, picnic facilities and restrooms to go alongside the park's eight tennis courts.

Faulkner Park Director of Tennis Ken Olivier explained today was a big deal for tennis in Tyler.

"Now we can have organized programs here at Faulkner Tennis Complex," said Olivier, "where kids can come in and sign up and we can take phone calls and faxes and e-mails. We're excited because we're going to have organized play and it's going to be open to the general public. We're a municipal tennis center."

The city invites everyone to come out Saturday morning beginning at 9:00am for a family tennis day and carnival with free food, and free tennis lessons.

    There are 35 days until the NFL Draft, and the market for Patrick Mahomes II is heating up. According to his agent Leigh Steinberg, 13 teams have asked for private workouts with the Whitehouse product.
