It's summertime in East Texas and there will be plenty of opportunities for young East Texans to participate for upcoming camps.
June 15th: Chris Johnson (Pine Tree) will be
holding his football camp in Longview
The camp is being held at Pine Tree High School Stadium for students in grades 6th-8th and 9th-12th.
The camp will run from 8am-11am for 6th-8th graders and 9am-12pm for 9th-12th graders.
Free registration begins at 7am on June 159th.
June 23rd: Cody Glenn (Rusk) will hold his
football camp at Eagle Stadium in Rusk.
Registration for the camp begins at 8:00 a.m. that morning and the camp will run from 9:00 am until noon.
The fee for registering is $20.
Lions defensive tackle Ndomukong Suh is scheduled to attend.
June 23rd: David Wesley (Longview) will hold his 10th annual basketball camp June 22-23 in at

June 30th: Matt Flynn (Tyler Lee) will hold his 2nd annual Red Raider Football camp at Robert E. Lee High School.
The camp is open to grades 3-8 during the upcoming academic year.
Grades 3-4 will participate from 9:00 am until noon, grades 5-8 will participate from 9:00 am until 3:00 pm.
Cost of the camp is $40 for ½ day campers (grades 3-4) and $85 for full-day campers (grades 5-8).
All registrations for campers will be made on-site starting at 8 AM.
Like Longview, Lufkin is always talented. Before the Panthers begin District 12-6A action, they'll play a loaded East Texas schedule featuring the Lobos in week 1, followed by Nacogdoches and John Tyler. Normally a 7 and 4 campaign would be considered a success, but not in Panther nation. In fact, despite making the playoffs every year, Lufkin hasn't advanced past the first round since 2012.More >>
