MARSHALL, TX (KLTV) -

Authorities are on the look-out for an East Texas man they say stabbed an acquaintance for failing to repay a $7 loan.

Late Monday night, Harrison County Deputies were dispatched to a residence in the 500 block of Restland Cemetery Road in Waskom in reference to a stabbing.

The victim, Jonas Stephens, told authorities he was stabbed by Jerry Harris in Harris' home.

Stephens says Harris was demanding of him repayment of $7 he had borrowed. The confrontation escalated into an argument and Stephens says Harris grabbed a knife and cut a 4 to 5 inch gash on his torso.

Stephens was taken to Good Shepherd Medical Center in Marshall with non-life threatening injuries. He was later released.

If you have any information on Jerry Harris' whereabouts, please contact the Harrison County Sheriff's office.
