Bottle Rocket Experiment Blasts Off

Tuesday, kids at Stewart Middle School in Tyler used trash to learn about science.  Technology students turned things like old soda pop bottles, yogurt cups, paper towel rolls, and milk cartons into bottle rockets.

After all their efforts they got to launch their creations during class using water compression to create energy. Teachers say the project showed kids the lighter side of science while also giving them practice with their math and computer skills.

Students in the sixth, seventh, and eighth grades participated in the bottle rocket project
