LHS Athletes Learn "All Right Moves"

More than 100 female athletes got the opportunity to learn basic self-defense moves from Master Black Belt Instructor Sam Phrumjuntun today during the 6th and 7th athletic periods.  Ladies from junior varsity softball, tennis, soccer and volleyball participated in the special class session.  Girls Soccer Coach Chris Yoder arranged for Phrumjuntun to spend the entire class time demonstrating and teaching the students simple moves to discourage aggressive behavior from a stranger.  They also learned how to free themselves if they find themselves in a situation where they feel threatened.

"These girls are heading off to college," said Yoder.  "Some of them will be far from hone and I want them to feel safe in their new environment.  Master Phrumjuntun trained under my father and I know he is the best at what he does so I really appreciate him agreeing to come to our classes and donating his time to these young ladies."
