Gladewater to Host Football Classic

It's going to be an incredible opening weekend of high school football in East Texas. We've already told you about the East Texas Football Classic at Rose Stadium.   Four games in three days, including a team from California. Now, we're getting word, that Gladewater High School will host five games in three days. It's the first annual Azalea Orthopedic Kickoff Classic at Jack V. Murphy-Bear Stadium. It's a chance for Gladewater to show off it's new Safe Play playing surface.

"It's very exciting," said Gladewater head football coach David Hussman.  "We're proud of what we have.  It's an outstanding football facility.  We've had some great track meets this spring out here.  It's a great facility and great stadium, and a lot of people will have the opportunity to come to one place and watch a lot of good football."

Tatum and Jefferson are scheduled to play Thursday night, August 26. Gladewater will take on Wills Point that Friday.  Then a triple-header on Saturday.  Brownsboro and Kaufman kick it off at 10am, followed by Lone Oak and New Diana at 3pm.  Bullard and Palestine Westwood close out the classic with an 8pm kickoff Saturday night.
