Along the Gulf Coast sits Biloxi, Mississippi's newest casino, Margaritaville and come May 2013, the same tropical-themed casino resort will call Bossier City, Louisiana home.

Once patrons walk inside, they are quickly greeted by employees strapped in stilts who perform four times a day for guests at the casino's Margaritaville restaurant.

It's all part of a show. Visitors to Mississippi's new casino are welcome to enjoy alcohol, games, slots, slides and bikini-clad women.

Margaritaville's president, Tom Brosig describes the process of hiring his 965 employees as intense.

"They've gone through a vigorous screening process to get here," Brosig said. "Every person had five minutes on stage to just show us their personality and get through to the next round."

Through process of elimination, 4,000 applicants went down to 965, that's 200 less than the job expectance for Shreveport-Bossier City where another Margaritaville casino is slated to be built and opened in Bossier City by 2013.

The Margaritaville theme is part of the Jimmy Buffet image. On the outside, the Bossier City version looks less like a beach front property and more like a resort, oasis, and mirage; according to the project's architect, Tom Hoskens.

"There will be a trestle on top and banners down the sides with brightly colored palm trees on them and the balconies off the edge," said Hoskens.

Developers broke ground along 777 Margaritaville Way in February 2012.

"For me it's one of the best days," said Hoskens. "Obviously opening the door and seeing the first person walk through is even better but without this we wouldn't have the next one."

Construction continues to move smoothly along the Louisiana Boardwalk in Bossier City, where the casino-resort is expected to be erected. The estimated date of completion is May 2013.

"They [patrons] will start smiling as soon as they walk in the door with the music and the ambiance and the environment and the staff that's going to be over the top friendly," Hoskens said.

Developers say the Bossier City Margaritaville Restaurant will seat 450 people. The casino and restaurant are set to be built connected to a 400 room hotel.

1200 new jobs are expected to be brought to the area along as well.
