Pro Baseball League Eyeing Tyler as Potential Site

A new professional baseball league is looking for cities across the Southwest to join their league. The Southwestern League of Professional Baseball Clubs is getting the word out to cities in Arizona, Colorado, New Mexico, Texas, Oklahoma, Missouri and Kansas. All teams will be league owned for the first year. The level of play will be low Class A, with a low budget approach. The league is looking for a $100,000 sponsorship commitment by potential teams, plus a $60,000 game revenue commitment. Teams have been established in Roswell, Odessa, Clovis, Cochise County and Nogales. The league is scheduled to begin play in 2005.

Fans interested in showing support for their city are asked to go the league website and vote. So far, Tyler has received considerable attention.
