DNA Testing in Gregg County Murder Case

DNA testing is underway in the case of two men charged with the beating death of an East Texas man last summer. It was June of last year that 2 men were arrested in connection with beating and dumping the body of 18 year old Michael Hendrix in the Sabine river in Gregg county.

27 year old Aaron Higginbotham was arrested within a day , and 28 year old Michael Kay , who was on the run for 9 days, was captured in up state NewYork. Both were charged with capital murder. Through a warrant investigators have collected saliva from both men to be used in d-n-a testing to positively link them to the murder. Both men remain jailed, and could face the death penalty if convicted.
