Woman Escapes From Authorities

Authorities in Cherokee County are on the lookout for a woman who escaped custody Saturday while being treated at a local emergency room.

31-year-old Maggie Hernandez escaped from a reserve Cherokee County Sheriff's Deputy just after 3 p.m.. The deputy was keeping an eye on the woman while she was being treated at East Texas Medical Center, Jacksonville.

Hernandez is described as a Hispanic female, 5'4 and weighing 120 lbs. She is also said to be wearing a lightweight gown, and is still in handcuffs. She is to be considered dangerous.
