Weather Can't Deter Walkers

The wet weather couldn't dampen the spirits of some folks in Tyler Saturday, hoping to walk for a good cause.

Dozens of folks came out to rain drenched Bergfeld Park in Tyler Saturday morning for the annual March of Dimes walk. Through wet streets walkers took off for the 5 mile trek. Organizers said the walk raises about $75,000 a year for premature babies.

"These people are dedicated to using their feet to give premature babies a hand and that's what it is all about, that's what we're here for," said Frankie Rushing, Tyler-Longview March of Dimes

About 500 people had pre-registered for the walk. Organizers said many of those were turned off by the weather.
