Texas Medical Center EMS has earned accreditation as an Emergency Medical
Dispatch Center of Excellence from The International Academies of Emergency
Dispatch – a distinction earned by only 162 dispatch centers around the world.
"We
are very pleased to receive this recognition," said Jeff Haislet,
communications director for ETMC EMS. "Earning this accreditation is voluntary
and involved meeting a detailed list of criteria. Accreditation demands careful
medical priority dispatch system compliance and certification for all emergency
call-takers and medical dispatchers."

EMS team members involved in the project included Haislet, Chad Richey, Ron
Schwartz, Joey Elliott and Dr. William Moore, as well as the dedicated
professionals of the ETMC EMS communications center.
ETMC
EMS headquarters is located in Tyler and covers over 16,000 square miles in
East Texas, responding to 150,000 requests for service and transportation of
more than 90,000 patients each year.
