Cedeno Clark named JT Head Basketball Coach

Tyler, Texas (KLTV) - In the past few weeks, John Tyler has lost two head coaches.

Tony Pinson resigned as basketball coach.

Dereck Rush left for Oak Ridge.

But there was good news today, longtime JT assistant Cedeno Clard was officially named the head coach of the John Tyler boys basketball team.

"I am very excited," said Clark, "I put myself in this position seven years ago, this was my dream job and I am very excited."

Clark, a 1992, graduate of JT, was an assistant coach for seven years.

He served as the acting head coach the last two weeks of the 2012 season.

Now, one of the two head coaching jobs has been filled from within the programs.

"To be able to replace [Pinson] with myself and vouching for coach [Riklan] Holmes for football, that would be great for the community and especially for the kids."
