School gets lesson in 'rocking out'

Coming up on Good Morning East Texas...

And, we've all been affected by cancer in one way or another, and tonight, the American Cancer Society is hosting Smith County's Relay for Life Walk to celebrate survivors and remember those who have lost their battle with the disease. Good Morning East Texas' Lauren Callahan will be live in the studio to introduce us to a local author who is using 'Tiaras & Pink Frosting' to help kids cope with cancer, and tell us about her fundraising mission over the next few months.

Plus, on right now, an Austin woman is jailed this morning on $1 million bond after she was accused of setting fire to her husband. Read about this sad, but bizarre story.

Mama Steph is Cooking up a Storm this morning. She has a delicious Banana-Peach bread recipe to share with us. You won't want to miss it!

And, Grant Dade will have your weekend forecast...showers and cooler weather on tap!

We will see scattered showers and thunderstorms today as a cold front moves through the area.  A few of these storms could produce small hail and gusty winds.  Highs will range from the upper 60s north to near 80 in the extreme south.  Tonight we will see skies clear towards morning allowing for some fairly chilly temperatures.  Lows will reach the middle to upper 40s area wide.  Saturday looks fantastic with sunny skies and highs in the upper 60s to lower 70s.  More details on the weather where you live are coming up on Good Morning East Texas. Check out the StormTracker Interactive radar.
