Hundreds pack Bergfeld Park for autism awareness

TYLER, TX (KLTV) -

Hundreds packed Bergfeld Park Saturday afternoon for Autism Awareness family fun day.

Kids and adults enjoyed games, snow cones, dancing and even an inflatable obstacle course.

The event was held to raise awareness of autism while still including some fun. It was sponsored by several East Texas organizations.

"We got to get really serious about getting these kids care and transforming their lives and helping them to be all that they can be," said Cindi Dewet with Assist Autism.

The event is part of World Autism Awareness month.
