14 starving horses seized from Upshur Co. man

Robert St. Mikloccy Robert St. Mikloccy
UPSHUR COUNTY, TX (KLTV) -

The Upshur County Sheriff's Department investigated a property owned by Robert St. Mikloccy on March 27, 2012, after reports that horses and mules on the property appeared thin and malnourished, according to Sheriff Deputy Freddie R. Fitzgerald.

In a hearing today, the Court found Mikloccy was guilty of cruelty to animals and his animals were placed in the custody of the Humane Society of North Texas. Upshur County will pay for the care of the animals until they are adopted from the shelter.

Mikloccy was not ordered to pay for the care of the animals, but he will not be allowed to take possession of the horses again.
