Released by the Texas Lottery Commission:

Mega Millions® jackpot could SET world record

No jackpot winners in tonight's drawing could create $476 million jackpot

Tonight's drawing features largest cash value jackpot in U.S. history

(AUSTIN) –Texas Lottery® officials announced today that, if there are no jackpot winners for the $363 million Mega Millions® estimated jackpot tonight,  sales could push the prize to a new world record of $476 million for Friday's drawing.

"Mega Millions has a long tradition of offering some of the largest jackpots in the world, so it's impressive but not surprising that the game is once again breaking records," said Gary Grief, who serves as the Texas Lottery executive director and lead director of Mega Millions.

Texans have the opportunity to win big by participating in the drawing for tonight's estimated $363 million Mega Millions jackpot, payable in 26 annual payments or a record one-time cash payment of $259.8 million.

  • Ties for fourth largest jackpot for any lottery game in U.S. history (estimated $363 million)
  • Ties for fourth largest jackpot in world history (estimated $363 million)
  • Could roll to a new world record of $476 million if no one wins the jackpot prize tonight
