Rotary Club Hosts Chili Cook off

It was the "hottest" place to be in Tyler Saturday. The Tyler Rotary Club held it's 2nd annual Chili Cookoff in the parking lot of the United Heritage Credit Union in Tyler.

The warm weather made for a great day to come out and enjoy some live music and some chili, and hundreds of folks showed up to do just that. Twenty different "cooks" were on hand to provide that chili and compete for a chance to go to the international chili championship in Terlingua, Texas.

Rotary Club President James Sheridan said the group hopes to make about $15,000 dollars this year to help the St. Louis School in Tyler.

If you're wondering who won the cookoff, Lin Lindsey of Murchison took the top prize for his "Kickapoo Chili".
