Whitehouse WR Cantrell commits to Texas Tech

WHITEHOUSE, TEXAS (KLTV) - KLTV Sports has learned that Whitehouse junior wide receiver Dylan Cantrell has chosen to play his college football in Lubbock.

Cantrell has committed to Texas Tech University for the 2013 football season.

The 6'2 receiver, according to Rivals.com, had a minumum of 10 offers from Division I schools.

Cantrell had a monster year in 2011, hauling in 82 passes for 1,402 yards and 21 touchdowns.

During a game against Pine Tree this past year, Cantrell tied a state record by catching 6 touchdown passes.

Cantrell becomes the latest in a line of Whitehouse players that will head to major programs, following Quincy Aldridge (TCU) and Trey Metoyer (OU) from the 2010 season.
