Two pounds of cocaine with a street value of more than $100,000 is off the streets. It started with what police thought was just a routine traffic stop in Gregg County.
49 year old Hardis Barnes of Louisiana was pulled over near the I-20 Highway 31 intersection. Police say they discovered the cocaine in a cardboard box in his back seat. The officer became suspicious when the man gave conflicting stories about where he was going.
Hardis was arrested and is in the Gregg County jail on $50,000 dollars bond.
