Tyler Economic Outlook Is Good

  Things are looking up for Tyler and the surrounding area. That's the report the Tyler Economic Development Council gave to its members at today's 15th annual luncheon. TEDC President and CEO Tom Mullins says, while 2003 was a good year, 2004 is set to be great.

  "Record number of prospects so far the first part of the year," said Tom Mullins, President and CEO of The Ttyler Economic Development Council.  "Everyone we're talking to locally in the economy is telling us their business activity is up. They invision a good year. Job projections are up with the Manpower survey that's been done. We're very positive about all of the good things that have been happening in the Tyler, Smith County economy."

  Governor Perry's Deputy Chief of Staff Phil Wilson was the guest speaker today. He says the the state is committing $295 million to help attract new businesses to the state.
