A Spring-like cold front is expected to move into the western sections of East Texas tomorrow afternoon and slowly depart the area on Tuesday morning. As this front moves through there is a SLIGHT RISK for severe weather for ALL of East Texas. Especially during the late afternoon / evening and overnight hours.

The warm, moist air, that has been moving into ETX over the past several days will continue as the front approaches from the west late tomorrow/early Tuesday morning. The greatest risk, at this time, appears to be for Large Hail and Damaging Thunderstorm Winds. There will also be a slight risk for a few isolated Tornadoes.

As this storm system gets closer to us tomorrow, we will have a better idea on the exact time frame, but for now, late afternoon and evening, as well as the early nighttime hours will be the best timing. It will start in the western sections during the afternoon, then spread into the central and eastern sections of ETX later in the day. Please make sure you have signed up for StormTracker 7 ThunderCall and also downloaded your StormTracker 7 Weather App. These, along with watching KLTV-7 and the KLTV weather page, you will stay ahead of the severe weather so that you can prepare for its arrival.

There is also a threat for Flash Flooding as these storms move through the area very slowly. Rainfall totals should average 2"-5" with amounts nearer to 6"+ a possibility. This total will be from when the rain begins until it ends, sometime late on Tuesday.
