LONGVIEW,TX (KLTV)- A morning Saint Patrick's day run brought hundreds of athletes out in Longview today. It was the second annual Longview half-marathon and 5-k run, which started at lobo stadium and wound its way through the streets of the city. The half-marathon is 13-point-one miles , and hundreds of runners , young, old , and a lot in between turned out. Even two army national guard soldiers ran with full 35-pound field packs. Sponsored by the Longview running club and Good Shepherd medical center, proceeds from the race go to the AMBUCS organization. Over 6-hundred runners took part in today's event, running both the 5-k and the half-marathon.
