E. Texas bull breeder killed in West Texas crash

LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) - A successful bull breeder from Lufkin was one of four killed in a four-vehicle crash Thursday afternoon in the Midland area.

David Wayne Wisener, 50, general manager of Lufkin Ranch & Rodeo, was killed while hauling livestock to Glendale, Ariz., according to a story on UnitedBuckingBulls.com.

The crash occurred on I-20 in Midland County. According to PermianBasin360.com, two semi-trucks were hauling trailers at a high rate of speed and crashed with two other vehicles, including Wisener. Four people were killed in the crash.

Wisener was responsible for the day-to-day operations at Lufkin Ranch & Rodeo and bred several champion bulls, according to UnitedBuckingBulls.com.

According to LRR's owner, Chuck Griffith, Wisener was traveling to Arizona for a Professional Bull Rider's show and had six bulls in the trailer. All six survived the crash.
