White Oak boys basketball wins first state title since 1957

AUSTIN, TX (KLTV) -

The White Oak Roughnecks are state champions for the first time in 55 years.  White Oak beat Brock 61 to 53 in the boys 2A state championship game Saturday afternoon.  Senior Caleb Carr led the Roughnecks with 17 points.  Jerred Whisenhunt and Levi Yancy both chipped in with 11 points.

The Roughnecks advanced to the state title game by beating No. 1 ranked and defending state champion Idalou on Friday.  White Oak led the game by as many as 13 points.  The Roughnecks finish the year with a record of 37 and 1.
