Tyler teen dies from gunshot wounds

A Tyler teenager has died after being shot overnight.

Just after 8 p.m. Tuesday, Tyler police received a call concerning a gunshot victim at the East Texas Medical Center facility on South Broadway.

The victim, 19-year-old James Caleb Stanley was transported to ETMC's main hospital where he died from his wounds shortly after midnight.

Investigators have determined that the shooting took place at 7105 Gatewood, although it was originally thought to have happened on Mueller Garden Drive in Tyler.

We're told two guns and marijuana were recovered from the victim's residence.

At this time, authorities are unsure what triggered the shooting.

A neighbor tells KLTV that the victim had only lived in the residence for a few weeks, and always had lots of people in and out.
