Police: 3 arrested for stealing property from railroad

LONGVIEW, TX (KLTV) - On March 6, 2012, at approximately 2:10 a.m., Officers were dispatched to a theft involving railroad property in the 1000 Block of East Whaley Street.

Railroad employees told officers that they had observed several white males loading railroad property into a gold Jeep Cherokee.

When the suspects saw the employees they got into the Jeep and left the area.

Officer Kevin Rankin observed a vehicle fitting that description traveling southbound on Eastman Road and stopped the vehicle. Officer Rankin and two other Police officers identified the suspects. Officers also located approximately $500.00 worth of stolen railroad property.

During a search of the suspects, two were found to have brass knuckles in their pockets.

Officers arrested all three subjects who were identified as Michael Wayne Marlitt 35 and Jarred Bakarr Holland 21, both of Kilgore and William Randall Brunson 21, of Longview.

Brunson was arrested on a total of ten charges including Possession of a Prohibited Weapon, Theft M/A, and a warrant for military desertion.

Marlitt was arrested on charges including Criminal Trespass, Theft M/A, Prohibited Weapon, and a No Insurance warrant.

Holland was arrested for Criminal trespass and Theft M/A, and he was also issued 4 class C citations.

All three were transported to the Gregg County Jail without incident.
