Neches girls one win from three-peat

AUSTIN, Texas (AP) - Senior guard Roddricka Patton had 15 points, 11 assists and 11 steals and two-time defending champion Neches rolled into another state final with a 64-42 win over Moulton on Friday night in the Class 1A Division II semifinals.

Patton's six rebounds also were a team high. Neches' typical high-pressure defense and frenetic offense turned 27 Moulton turnovers into 31 points. The diminutive Patton was the engine behind it all, disrupting Moulton with quick steals and slicing apart the Bobkittens with pinpoint passing.

Kristen Green scored 12 points and Kiandra Taylor scored 11 for Neches (33-5), which advanced to its fourth consecutive championship game in the division for the state's smallest schools. Brandee Dolezal scored 16 points and Megan Mitchon scored 13 to lead Moulton (26-11).
