Former ETMC exec passes away

TYLER, TX (KLTV) - The ETMC Regional Healthcare System is sad to announce the death of Anthony Myers, recently retired ETMC Vice President over ETMC EMS.  Tony passed away in Fort Wayne, Indiana, on March 1 following complications from a long-term illness.  Under his leadership for 17 years, ETMC EMS grew throughout the vast East Texas area and the state.  As the company grew, so did its outstanding reputation, and Tony was responsible for our national EMS outreach, with Paramedics Plus operations in Florida, Oklahoma, Indiana and California. 

Tony is survived by his wife, Linda, and their children.  Arrangements are as follows:

March 6:  Visitation 2 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m.  Short 4 p.m. Vigil at the funeral home:  D. L. McComb Funeral Home, Pine Valley, 1320 East Dupont Rd., Fort Wayne, IN 46825
March 7:  Mass 10:30 a.m. at St. Vincent de Paul, 1502 E. Wallen Road, Fort Wayne, IN
After the mass, there will be a procession to Fire Station 16 (11330 Coldwater Road) and back to the funeral home.

As an expression of sympathy and to honor Tony's lasting legacy, the ETMC Regional Healthcare System is establishing the Tony Myers Scholarship Fund, which will assist EMS team members as they further their education and accreditations.  To provide a gift to this fund, please send a check to:  ETMC Foundation, Attn:  Myers Scholarship Fund, P. O. Box 6400, Tyler,TX 75711.  An acknowledgment card will be sent to Tony's family (no dollar amount is listed) in recognition of each gift.
