Police: Black female robbed Tyler bank at knife-point

Numerous Tyler Police vehicles are on the scene of a bank robbery in Tyler.

Tyler Police received a call at 5:19 Wednesday evening that the Telco Plus Credit Union, located in the 600 block of West Front Street in northwest Tyler, had been robbed.

Lieutenant Rusty Jacks says a woman wearing a black mask over her head, wielding a large kitchen knife robbed the bank.

Tyler Police say the woman placed a bag on the counter and told the teller to give her money. The teller complied with her request.

Jacks described the woman as a light-skinned, black female, approximately 5'5" with a slim-build. She was wearing a black-hooded mask, black shirt and black pants. Were told the suspect is driving a black 4-door vehicle, possibly a Chevy Malibu.

Police say money was taken from the bank during the robbery, but officials are not releasing the amount.

A witness on the scene told a KLTV reporter that when he attempted to walk in to the bank, he was told, "You can't come in, we were just robbed."

No one was injured during the robbery.
