We're learning new details about an officer involved shooting near an East Texas business that left one person dead.

The shooting happened Wednesday afternoon when a vehicle was pulled over at a metal fabrication shop in the Miller's Cove. That community is located on I-30, between Sulphur Springs and Mount Pleasant in Titus County.

Winfield Police Chief Tyler Bannister said the vehicle was pulled over for driving erratically and at high speeds on I-30.

The officer handcuffed the suspects inside the police unit in order to search the vehicle. During the search, one of the suspects was able to retrieve a weapon inside the police unit.

One of the officers noticed the suspects and when he approached the unit, the suspect with the weapon fired at the officer.

An officer returned fire, hitting and killing the suspect.

The suspect that was killed has been identified as Brian Michael Fuller of New York.

The second suspect has been identified as Brian's brother, Bryce Fuller, 17, also of New York.
Bryce is charged with possession of a controlled substance, theft of a firearm, unlawful carrying of a weapon, and possession of marijuana.

We're told the officer involved in the shooting was with the Winfield Police Department, but because of the Texas Rangers' investigation into the shooting, the Winfield Police Chief did not want to comment on camera.

We are told both officers walked away unharmed.
