E. Texas veteran laid to rest

As motorcycles with the East Texas Patriot Guard rode in to Rose Hill Cemetery, a hearse carrying the body of Virgil Lee Stanley followed.

An American Flag covered the casket of this World War Two Veteran...a man his daughter calls a hero.  And, Saturday's memorial service is a testament to his legacy.

"This is something special. And, when I looked and saw all those flags on those motorcycles riding...oh my goodness. It was wonderful," said Glenda Barron, Stanley's daughter.

As family and friends mourned Stanley's loss, The East Texas Patriotic Guard stood in silence...holding American Flags.

"It is an honor and a privilege to stand for him in respect," John Bradberry with the East Texas Patriot Guard told us.

Glenda Barron told us this is exactly what her father would have wanted.

"My daddy is up there...oh, he would just be amazed," she said.

Stanley was in the third wave to arrive on Omaha Beach during D-Day.
