The latest information in the ETMC stabbing

We hope your Fat Tuesday is going well!

Here's some of what we're working for you in the KLTV newsroom this afternoon:

You've likely heard that a second attack on a woman has occurred on the grounds of ETMC in Tyler. This one occurred last night as a nurse was leaving work. A man armed with a knife stabbed the nurse in the arm, attempting to steal her purse. KLTV's Jena Johnson is on the scene and will tell you at 5 what police are saying about whether the two attacks could be related, the man's description, video footage, and more. On our website we also have the statement ETMC released regarding security measures that are being taken to protect visitors and patients on their campus. CLICK HERE for that.

Also at 5, a video you won't want to miss showing a controlled bridge implosion in Ohio. The 70-year old bridge was replaced by a 4-lane bridge and was no longer in service. These are always interesting to watch, so tune in for that.

And Dr. Ed Dominguez will be with us to speak about the increase in deaths, especially among so-called 'Baby Boomers,' from Hepatitis C. Dr. Ed always has something enlightening to share, and it could possibly save a life. Make sure to join us for that at 5.

An East Texas WWII veteran has a new place to call home today. Watkins-Logan-Garrison Texas State Veterans Home cut the ribbon this morning. 94-year old Willard Kirkpatrick was there to do the honors. KLTV's Samantha Jordan was there and will share the story of the new home which is designed to have a more "homey" feeling than traditional facilities; we'll share that with you at 6.

We'll also head to a Mardi Gras celebration in the area to see how some local seniors celebrated the day. How will you celebrate? We hope you have plans for some good ol' Cajun food for dinner tonight; enjoy!

We'll see you soon!
