Trio makes it big, performs in East Texas

A trio that has performed for millions of people is in Tyler.

The Texas Tenors have performed on national television and Friday night they will perform at the Crosswalk Conference Center at Green Acres Baptist Church in Tyler.

You may recognize the Texas Tenors from America's Got Talent. They have toured all over the world and now they are performing right here in Tyler.

The group formed in Houston, but East Texas holds a special place in their hearts.

"Some of my singing training happened in East Texas at Stephen F. Austin University," said John Hagen.

"We like East Texas," JC Fisher told us.

Don't let those cowboy hats fool you. Their music extends far beyond a classical treatment of country music.

They sing everything from Puccini to the Rolling Stones.

"We live by the mantra that there's just good music; the genre doesn't matter. There's music that's great to listen to and then there's music that's maybe not that great to listen to," Hagen said.

It's this variety that interested Nancy Wrenn, the Executive Director of the East Texas Symphony Orchestra Association.

"These gentlemen are classically trained. Their roots are in classical music and they have a country spin and that way they have a mixed genre that appeals to really different listeners in our community," Wrenn explained.

This trio has experienced global success and now, they are showing no signs of slowing down.

A limited number of tickets are still available. Visit or call 903-526-3876, ext. #4 for more information.
