A toddler spotted walking the halls of a motel's second story, lands an East Texas mother in jail for child endangerment and drug possession.
It happened around 1am at the Motel 6 at 110 South Access Road in Longview.
Witnesses reported to the front desk clerk that they had spotted an unattended 2-year-old child walking on the second floor balcony.
When police arrived they found that the child had walked out of a room where a second child, a 4-year-old, was sleeping , and the mother nowhere to be found.
Police found the room was rented to the mother of the children, 22-year-old Ariel Wallace, who returned almost an hour and a half later.
Wallace was arrested on two counts of abandonment-endangerment of a child, and upon a search was also charged with drug possession.
She's being held on more than $11,000 bond.
