NASA takes huge hit on FY2012 budget

(KLTV) - According to the new budget, it looks like NASA will have a lot less cash to work with next year.

The space agency is looking at about 300-million dollars in cuts to its planetary exploration program. That means two missions to Mars may have to be scrapped.

Still, the space agency's budget is expected to be around 18 billion dollars.

Among other things, that cash will be used to keep the space station up and running, and to build a new rocket that can take humans to Mars someday.
