The absolute latest info on the Lake Palestine plane crash, tonight on KLTV-7

It's been a busy day in the KLTV-7 newsroom. Here's some of what we're working on for you today:

Information has been breaking all afternoon following a plane crash in Lake Palestine. The pilot flew from Berryville to Jacksonville and refueled at the Cherokee County airport. He left there just before 11am Wednesday, but has not been heard from since. The plane has been found, but the pilot has not been located. The latest updates from KLTV's Melanie Torre and Jena Johnson, who have been on the scene all day, will be on KLTV at 5 and 6.  Also, check out KLTV.com for pictures from the scene and of the plane before it went down.

The search continues for an East Texas fisherman who has been missing since his boat crashed yesterday.  Authorities say the accident happened in the River Bend Marina, south of Shreveport. One of the fishermen was able to crawl to safety on some nearby rocks, but his cousin is still missing. More on those men and their story at 5.

We'll also tell you about an East Texas high school student who decided, after her own pain and suffering, to help others who are suffering instead of wasting time feeling sorry for herself. She reached out to an organization called "Help Me To Live," which provides chemotherapy treatments for children in Guatemala who otherwise could not have them. She raised money with simple flour, eggs, and sugar…a lot of money.  Make sure to join KLTV's Ian Smith for her inspiring story.

A man led authorities on a pursuit this morning down Hwy. 80, just east of Hallsville. Police say a 29-year old man failed to stop at a stop sign, and when police attempted to pull him over, he behaved as if he would pull over, then sped away. The pursuit included Marshall police as well as Harrison County Sheriff deputies, and ended on foot.  We'll tell you how it all ended at 6.

And KLTV Chief Meteorologist Mark Scirto is in the weather center, gathering data and preparing your forecast for the next several days. We know you're looking forward to your weekend already, so stay tuned to KLTV for the best, most accurate local forecast in East Texas to help you out as you make those plans.

We'll see you soon!
