WEB EXCLUSIVE: Bank of America declares live man dead

COLUMBIA, SC (WIS) - Arthur Livingston is alive and well. But not according to Bank of America.

Livingston says the bank has been reporting him to be dead to all the major credit agencies since May of 2009. His credit report even says, "file not scored because subject is deceased."

Unfortunately, this little error has put a serious damper on his plans to build a new home.

"I spend every minute I have either sending a message or calling, faxing or just, you know, wondering it is going to be resolved today," said Livingston.

Livingston has been working on an ending to this problem for some time. "I went to Bank of America, I brought this to their attention and we're working on 100 days now with no resolution," he said.

Livingston says the bank is only one that can right the error and says he was originally told it would only take 30 days to fix.

"It should be resolved within 48 hours, in my personal opinion, from the time that we took it there, but it's just not happening," said Livingston.

Livingston, who has been a customer at Bank of America for the last 14 years, says he now feels like his life is on hold.

"If he we did need a new vehicle, we have means of opening up a new line of credit. If we needed a new credit card, we have no way of doing that," said Livingston. "We are trying to obtain a home mortgage and we can't do that."

Livingston also says his credit score has been impacted by this mistake because anything he's paid off or paid on is not being reported.

Although he says he's a patient man, Livingston is now at his breaking point. "My next step would be to contact an attorney and have them contact Bank of America," he said.

Meanwhile, Bank of America says they plan on looking into the matter and will follow up with Livingston directly.

The John Tyler Lions always seem to look sharp in their uniforms. But thanks to East Texas lawyer Keith Miller, the Lions will look better and play safer. Helmets that advertise lowering the impact of hits, and possibly reduce the amount of concussions, come with a hefty price-tag. Miller's donation of 7,500 dollars, will go to help the lions cover that cost. "Keith Miller's been a big sponsor of John Tyler High School football program for years now.  I know it's...More >>
