Gas station argument leads to gunshots in E. Texas neighborhood

Tyler Police say a shooting in a Tyler neighborhood may have been caused by an argument at a gas station.

The shots were fired in the 800 Block of South Pinkerton Drive in Tyler.

Police tell KLTV two men were at a gas station on the corner of Golden Road and Fifth Street, when several other men blocked them into their parking spot.

After a brief altercation, the suspects reportedly followed the men to the home.

When a resident told the suspects to leave, that's when police say one of them started firing into the air.

"I was afraid to turn my back because I didn't know if I would get shot," said Kim Criner, who witnessed the incident.

"We did find shell cases in the roadway to support the gun was discharged. The suspects already left prior to the officers' arrival," said Don Martin with the Tyler Police Department.

No one was hurt in this incident. So far, no arrests have been made.
