Titus County man sentenced to federal prison on arson charges

TITUS COUNTY, TX (KLTV) -

A Titus County man was sentenced to federal prison on Wednesday for arson.

The U.S. Attorney's Office says Justin Rodney Glenn of Mt. Pleasant pleaded guilty in December to conspiracy to commit arson.

Glenn was sentenced to 60 months in prison, and is ordered to pay $169,517.12 in restitution.

According to information presented in court, in 2008, Glenn conspired to burn down commercial buildings in order to collect fraudulent insurance payouts.

One business was the Washtub Laundry, AKA Gary's 24 Hour Wash and Dry in Mt. Pleasant.

Officials say Glenn recruited and offered payment to individuals to set fire to the laundromat.

Glenn was taken into custody after Tuesday's hearing.
