Sports Headlines 2/7/12

I'll admit, I've been frustrated on the golf course.  From playing bad, to other groups playing way too slow.  This story is ridiculous.  A Texas man almost died on a golf course, after being stabbed with a broken club.  Click here for more.

The New York Giants celebrated their Super Bowl championship today with a big parade.  After the parade, one of the Giants co-owners took a shot at the Cowboys.  Watch KLTV News at Ten to hear what he had to say.

While the Giants were celebrating the Super Bowl, Tony Romo is getting ready to play golf with Tiger Woods.  The two will be playing together at this weeks Pebble Beach Pro Am.  Tiger says that Romo has called him several times for advice on his swing.  Tiger says he's impressed with Romo's golf game.  Hopefully Romo takes time in the offseason to improve his quarterback play.

The Texas Longhorns will have bragging rights for quite some time.  The men's basketball team completed a season sweep of the Aggies last night in College Station.  Add in the football teams thrilling win at Kyle Field, and it's a bad way for the Aggies to leave the Big 12.  I really hope the two schools can reach a scheduling agreement.  It just doesn't seem right to lose the rivalry.

Have a good afternoon,

Ryan Peterson

The John Tyler Lions always seem to look sharp in their uniforms. But thanks to East Texas lawyer Keith Miller, the Lions will look better and play safer. Helmets that advertise lowering the impact of hits, and possibly reduce the amount of concussions, come with a hefty price-tag. Miller's donation of 7,500 dollars, will go to help the lions cover that cost. "Keith Miller's been a big sponsor of John Tyler High School football program for years now.  I know it's...More >>

The last time we talked about the Kilgore Bulldogs, quarterback Buddy Jackson and wide receiver Jonathan Shepherd were apart of the 800-meter relay team that won gold at the 2017 state track meet. But today they are back in the pads, and looking to turn their speed into touchdowns.  Competing in District 9-4A, Kilgore has always had a strong run game that helped them become the 2016 District Champs. However, in order to surpass their opponents this season, including Carthag...More >>
