NACOGDOCHES, Texas (KTRE) - A Nacogdoches man will be arraigned in Henderson County on a theft charge after he allegedly stole a plane from a hangar in Athens.
The Nacogdoches County Sheriff's Office arrested Terry Lynn Boozer, 56, Monday evening, near a private airstrip on County Road 536. When deputies arrived, they found the plane on the scene and the engine warm, Kerss said. When deputies spotted Boozer on the scene, he ran away, Kerss said. Deputies managed to catch him several minutes later.
Boozer made an appearance in Justice of the Peace Dorothy Tigner-Thompson's courtroom Tuesday morning, where she placed a $2,500 bond on the evading arrest charge. It was announced that Henderson County would be charging him with the theft offense, which is a second-degree felony, as the plane is valued at more than $100,000.
Henderson County authorities will transport Boozer back to Athens, where he will be arraigned on the theft charge.
