UPDATE 7:45 P.M.:  Authorities say Zoey Smith has been taken to a child advocacy center to be interviewed.

UPDATE 7:07 p.m.: Authorities tell KLTV that the missing three-year-old girl--and her dog, have been found safely near a creek in Van Zandt County.

She was found off of FM 2909 about two or three miles from where she was last seen.

Authorities say that Zoey apparently crossed a creek, with her dog. They say she is doing okay, but she is wet, tired, and cold.

We're told that Zoey is now back at her grandmother's house where she is recovering.

As the news broke, crowds assisting in the search, cheered upon her safe arrival at the command post off of CR 4207.

Van Zandt County Sheriff Pat Burnett says authorities are in search of a missing three-year-old little girl.

Authorities have said the girl's name is Zoey Smith.

Officials say the child was last seen walking down the road with a little brown dog on CR 4207 in the southeast portion of the county. We're told this was around 12:40 p.m. on Thursday afternoon.

She reportedly walked out of her house.

Two fire departments, DPS helicopters equipped with heat signature-sensing cameras, and dozens of others are also involved with the search.

Van Zandt County Constable Pat Jordan says it's not his investigation, but he is on the scene along with many other agencies, including the FBI.

Search dogs have been called to the scene to assist.

We're told authorities are looking for a vehicle in the area.

Authorities have given the following description:

  • White female
  • Dark hair
  • Green eyes

Last seen wearing:

  • Light purple shirt - Short sleeved - with the wording "I did not do it" around the collar
  • Black tennis shoes
  • Wrangler jeans
  • Light blue and pink jacket
  • Possibly walking with a pit bull
