Man arrested in Longview Walgreens robbery

LONGVIEW, TX (KLTV) -

Longview Police have apprehended a suspect in the robbery of a Longview pharmacy.

A man, claiming to be armed, robbed the Walgreens pharmacy in Longview on a Friday afternoon in mid-January.

Longview Police say the man walked into the Walgreens on the corner of W. 4th Street and Loop 281, about 4:20 Friday, January 13.

The man alerted the pharmacist that he was armed and demanded drugs; the pharmacist complied.

The suspect fled the scene.

Longview Police say Jason Corey Benson, 26, of Garland, was identified as the suspect in the robbery.

Benson turned himself in to authorities and was arrested for delivery of a controlled substance.

On Tuesday, officials also charged Benson in the Walgreens robbery.
