Taxpayers footing bill for lawsuit involving constable

TYLER, TX (KLTV) -

Taxpayers will be footing the bill over a lawsuit involving a Smith County Constable.

Precinct 5 constable Dennis Taylor was sued by former Deputy Constable Wendy Savering.

She claims Taylor sexually harassed her.

Records show the county paid $20,000 to their insurance company to settle the suit.
