Evening Headlines 1/30

Tonight at 10, we address the concerns some folks in Longview have expressed over LISD's desire to hire retired superintendent Dr. James Wilcox as the district's interim superintendent while the school board searches for his permanent replacement.  We've heard folks use phrases like 'double-dipping' and 'loop hole.'  We talked with district representatives who say the people who think that's what's happening don't understand what's happening because there's nothing unethical taking place.  I'll explain in a new report.

We're continuing to talk with fire investigators about the blaze that required the response of several local fire departments.  We'll have the latest information on the fire near Lake Tyler.

Chief Meteorologist Mark Scirto is in the Storm Tracker 7 Weather Center analyzing all of the data streaming into our network of computers.  He'll have the latest forecast for you tonight at 10.  Watch and you'll have all of the information you need to dress appropriately for later tonight and early tomorrow morning.

See you at 10!
